The warm and soft glow of the moonlight shone through the window, as if was showcasing an item on display. The item, in question, was a couple lying in a large bed, naked as the day as they were born.
A brunette, with once short hair, now grown out long enough to reach the top of her buttocks, sat up and looked out the balcony window, with once-bright pink eyes. She then headed outside, letting the cool night air grace her curvaceous and voluptuous body.
Kari stared at the moon in the sky, thoughts running through her mind as she stood there for a good moment.
Meanwhile, a young man with a chiseled body and brown hair snored loudly in his sleep, dreaming of things to come, whether for good or for worse.
"Hmmm… Takoyaki…" He grunted in his slumber, drool seeping out of his mouth. Davis let out a snort as he turned and tossed in his fanciful sleep.
Kari turned her head at her sleeping lover. She sighed as she looked at him, thinking about the times they had in their younger years, those golden years.
Now they had become grown adults and moved on with their lives. She did keep in touch with most of her friends, but others…
She shook her head, not wanting to remember what happened with TK, which of that terrible memory of his death kept playing vividly inside her mind each time she thought about him.
"What the hell is this, Kari?! What do you mean you want to break up?!" The blonde man screamed at his now-former girlfriend, who was standing near a traffic crossing. Kari turned to her ex-boyfriend with a glare.
"I meant what I said, TK. I can't keep living this lie anymore. I thought I was happy with you, but my heart kept trying to tell me otherwise. I wanted to make this work, I really did! But it looks like it won't. I just can't see a future with you anymore. I'm sorry."
TK couldn't believe his ears. Kari was dumping HIM. He had given his whole being just to make the girl happy, but she still wasn't satisfied. It still was not enough for her.
"It's Davis, isn't it?"
Kari spun around and looked at him in surprise. "Davis doesn't have anything to do with this-"
"Yes, he does, Kari! It's always been about Davis! You keep looking at him with that love-sick gaze! What does he have that I don't?!" TK grabbed Kari's arm and squeezed it. "Answer me!"
"TK, stop it! You're hurting me!" Kari tried to pull away from her raging ex, but TK wasn't going to let her go. Not yet.
"Answer me, dammit! You had an affair behind my back, didn't you?! DIDN'T YOU?!"
SMACK!
Kari's free hand forced a surprised and momentarily stunned TK to release her arm as she ran away from him.
"KARI, YOU GET THE HELL BACK HERE!" TK then began to chase after his ex as Kari went into a full run, crossing the road. "COME BACK, YOU BITCH!" Kari had managed to cross the other side just in time, before the lights changed.
Unfortunately, TK would not be so lucky, as a speeding truck rushed by; its target was the blonde boy, who was stuck in the middle of the road like a deer. TK stared at his impending doom, and then knew no more as he fell into his eternal rest.
Everyone around Kari screamed and shouted hysterically, calling for the police and ambulance.
Kari just stared at the broken and mangled body of her former lover. She didn't want a gruesome fate like this to happen to him. But fate had other plans for TK. She turned away and headed to Davis' place.
The female brunette walked back to the bed, looking at her new husband, who was dreaming of food and delightful things. Sadness and warmth were mixed in Kari's eyes as she sat on the bed and slid into the covers, taking in one last long gaze at the one responsible for giving her a chance at being happy, before slumber overtook her.
Kari had finally found peace at last.
END.
