Everything was quiet and still. No sound could be heard from miles around except for the breeze in the air. But the sound of cats running started to fill the air.

"Get him!" Yowled an orange tabby she-cat. He and two other cats, a black tom, and a huge silver cat ran after a brown tabby tom.

The huge silver cat caught up with him first. He grabbed the brown tom and held him down. The brown tom yowled and struggled, but could not shake loose.

"Hold on to him, Bone." The black tom hissed. Bone growled back.

"Should I kill him?"

"Was that not your orders, Bone?" yowled the orange tabby cat.

"Shut up, Fang." Growled Bone, "Maybe I should kill you too?"

Fang started to fling herself when the black tom grabbed her by the scruff.

"Calm down, Fang."

"Let go of me, Marrow!"

"Just kill him, Bone!"

Bone's tail twitched as he started to sink his fangs in to the brown fur when he heard a familiar yowl. He looked up to see his leader, Scratch. Scratch was Scourge's sister. She took over when he died.

"I'll take care of him." Scratch growled.

Bone dropped the brown tom and backed away. Scratch stepped forward, her beautiful white fur just recently groomed. The brown tom struggled up.

"What is your name?" hissed Scratch.

"Why would you wanna know?"

Scratch's blue eyes filled with anger as she slashed her claws across the brown tom's face.

The tom yowled in pain. Blood hit the ground in front of his paws.

"Now, will you tell me?" Scratch purred.

The brown tom struggled for breath and nodded.

"Then, what is it?"

"Triff"

"Well, Triff, what were you doing in my territory?"

"Well, I was just a passing through."

"Passing through?"

"Well, I reckon so."

Scratch walked right up to Triff. She was right in front of his nose. "Are you sure you were not stealing or something of the kind?"

"I really don't think so. There was nothing worth stealing."

Scratch snorted. She turned around a faced the other three cats. "He is certainly cocky." She swung back to face Triff. "You have two choices, one, I can kill you…"

"Well, I'll be. How are you gonna do that? Have that big fatso over there sit on me and suffocate me to death?"

Bone yowled and sprang forward. He stopped short when Scratch gave him a look.

"Or you could join my clan. So what will it be? One or two?"

"No thank ya, I already went." Triff yowled out and burst out laughing.

He felt a sharp pain and the next thing he knew, he was on his back, belly exposed. The white she-cat was on top of him. "You must choose."

"Why, you're a strong one. Alright, but what about my kitters?"

"Kitters?"

"My kits. I have two of them, a tom and a she-cat. I hid um before they came here." He pointed his tail at the three cats.

"Where are they?"

"Right over there in the bushes. They are about five moons old. I won't join unless my kits join.

"Fine!"

Marrow and Bone grabbed the two kits. Fang walked up to Scratch. "He can't join BloodClan!"

"BloodClan, I heard of BloodClan. You guys have long claws and have collars with claws in them…so; you're the new leader of BloodClan?" Triff mewed. "So Scourge is dead eh?"

Scratch stopped short. "How do you know Scourge?"

"Oh, I live around here. I hear stories." Triff quickly changed the subject. "So, where is the BloodClan camp?"
