Summary: Everyone knows hitchhiking alone is crazy-dangerous, especially if you are a vampire.
The silver shimmer of mirage on the horizon coalesces into the shape of a car. She smiles at the low rumble – a muscle car, if she isn't mistaken. She sticks out her thumb and waits, confident this is one driver who won't pass her by.
Sure enough, the engine note changes as he brakes, and the sleek black beauty draws up beside her.
Two heartbeats are better than one, if a little challenging…Making sure her fangs aren't showing, she turns her smile on the tall guy who gets out first.
She never feels the blow that takes her head off.
