How long had she known?
How long had she known that while she was away on missions he was seeing another girl?
She found out in the strangest way, the smirk and evil glances from her as she shared every juicy detail of their relationship over a cup of coffee.
She didn't know what to believe. Questioning him got angry denial. Questioning her made her believe that it all must be true.
She found herself on missions with them, stepping between them to break up arguments, slowly feeling her heart break in two.
It was obvious. His eyes lingered on her for a few moments longer, she snapped a retort at him, but humor filled her eyes. Then one day, it was official
For her, it was all over...
Sad and depressed, she almost didn't notice when a new him entered her life. This new him smiled weakly at her from his spot on the hospital bed.
Well, he wasn't exactly new, he was merely appearing in her eyes for the first time, finally stepping out of the shadows.
She kicked him in the shin. Hard. How dare he go and almost get killed. Who would put her heart back together?
He does put her heart back together, piece-by-piece, a few dates here and there, a kiss on her front porch.
Him and her slowly fade from her mind.
After a while, all is forgiven, and both couples were together, happy at last.
HMMMMMMM it isn't very long, but whatever…
