It was hard to watch her surpass you. It was hard to watch as they all looked up to her, resting the fate of the world on her shoulders. You stare her for a moment and wonder if she will ever break under the pressure, but she's remains as calm as ever, and you remember that she is much stronger. It hurt as you watched the doors of the ruins close behind her, the rain beating aggressively against your skin. Feelings of jealousy and worry mix in the pit of your stomach. It hurt when she defeated Steven. He had his hand on her shoulder and the way that he said "sorry, champions only...".
You were never good with feelings, expressing things with a simple, "I don't know," and then either a smile or a frown. You smile for her. You are proud.
You remember how you use to pride yourself on the fact that you were ahead, you had and earlier start, but yet she was the champion. Every battle you've had with her, she wins with a simple grace. Yes, you really are proud. She deserves this.
A/N: hm. I actually didn't get to play the older game and I didn't get to see the anime (I'm lame ik) but I've been told May's personality is pretty like, upbeat and social, yes? However, her being the one I played as and so forth, I've always thought as her as, y'know, quiet and calm and strong, typical 1st player protagonist, ehehe. Hopefully I didn't crush anyone's headcannons.
