Chapter 2 The Songbird
That singing continued until Link galloped to Lon Lon Ranch. Trying very hard not to scream
he rather calmly praised her on her singing. Malon, although highly flattered, pretended it was no
big deal and started flirting with him. Link, though thoroughly disgusted asked her to sing again,
just to avoid listening to her come-ons. Link struggled to hold on to his sanity as he listened to her
start her accursed singing once again. My gosh, if I don't get outta here, my head's gonna explode
Link thought as he tried to race out of Lon Lon Ranch. In his haste, he didn't see where he was
going and bumped right into Malon's father, Talon.
"Holy crap-balls!" Link yelped as he collided into the roll of fat called Talon.
"Howdy there, partner. Enjoying your stay? My boy, there ain't no finer place than this here ol'
ranch! Yes siree, Bob! No ranch better!" chortled Talon as his gelatin-like belly bounced up and
down.
"Ah, yes!" Link smiled. His mind was racing. If only he had a good battle ax...
Link snapped back to reality as he listened to Talon ramble on.
"Now I'm gonna take these Cuccos and I'm gonna throw 'em into the other gaggle of other
Cuccos and then I'm gonna.."
"I'm so sorry Mister Talon, I have to go talk to Princess Zelda about the Sacred Realm." Link
said in an apologetic manner.
"No need to be sorry, my boy! It's yer job for Epona's sake! By the way, how's Epona doing?"
Talon said as he scratched his rear end and picked his nose at the same time.
"Very nicely, in fact. Uh, ah, gotta go!" Link said as he ran out of Lon Lon Ranch.
Link shivered as he remembered how Talon was picking his nose and scratching his rear
simultaneously. I hope I never end up like him Link thought. He really wished he had just burned
the ranch down today. Taking Malon, Talon, and Ingo with it. He was relished the thought of it. He
could have done it! Why? Why? I must be getting too soft in my old age. What a bunch of
psychos! Link thought. Those names are so dumb! Link slowly trudged to Hyrule Castle where he
would meet the Princess of "Destiny."
