He knew he'd have to do it sooner or later, he might as well get it done with now " Hey Linds, can we talk?" he said after the victims parents carrying her son walked away. He led her to the locker room were only hours earlier she had thrown up and told him she was pregnant.
"Yeah Dan what is it?" she refused to look him in the eye obviously still processing what the older couple had just said to them. Their words of luck ran through his head and it gave him the courage to continue.
"Look about earlier....I..." he ran his fingers through his hair looking anywhere but her.
"Danny its OK like I said I...don't expect anything." That made him look at her right in her tear ridden eyes. he did the only thing he could think of to reassure her and pressed his lips gently to hers marveling at how a shock still went through him when they kissed, even after all this time. He placed his hand on her stomach as he broke the kiss and looked down at his hand.
"When you told me about...." He swallowed the lump in his throat unable to say the word yet "I...I didn't really know what to think.....but now...I do." he looked into her eyes. "I wasn'tthere for you during the trial, not until the very end cause you wouldn't let me." he played his fingers on her stomach and moved his thumb up and down listening as he heard he breathe catch in her throat "I don't want it to be like that this time...this time I wanna be there for you, with you from the beginning...and I want you to want me there." she smiled tears dripping down her cheeks and placed her hand over his, nodding her head.
"Yeah Dan OK, the beginning"
