Ah…it's good to be back! I know I haven't cranked anything out in a while, but perhaps you'll be glad to know that I have missed writing terribly! Pappy's back, everybody! YAY!!!

(Just a small story I came up with while washing dishes at work. I think it also fits with the coming month's anniversaries. Do enjoy!)

And we all know that Pappy doesn't own the Ducks or Disney. She has her own stuff! (hopefully you'll see it soon!)

Liberty

Nosedive yawned as he turned another page. This library was so quiet, and Nosedive figured it only be a matter of minutes before he went insane. He and Duke had decided to explore the world of Denver, Colorado, while the rest of the team were planning tonight's game. They had already been to three comic book shops and one Burger King, so Duke suggested they do something more "enriching" ("You've been spending too much time with Grin, dude"). So Nosedive was left with Top 10 American Landmarks as Duke frolicked through the shelves of the mystery section.

This book is so inaccurate thought Nosedive. It doesn't even have the Pond in here. He turned another page. He stopped. "Cool…" he muttered.

There was a large picture of a giant green lady standing in the ocean. She wore long, flowing green robes and had a beautiful crown on top of her head. In one hand was a tablet which she kept close to her, in her other a golden torch which she held up to the sky. Nosedive was intrigued. On the opposite page were a few more pictures and an article. Nosedive began to read.

Fifteen minutes later Duke returned with a book. "Wow, the kid's actually reading something non-comical. Never thought I'd see the day…" He chuckled.

"Hey Duke, check this out…" Nosedive said. Duke walked behind the blonde and looked over his shoulder.

"A statue?" he asked.

"Yeah, it's this really big statue in the New York harbor. The Statue of Liberty. Cool, huh?" Nosedive explained.

" 'Liberty?' What's it for?" asked Duke.

"Apparently some French guys or something gave her to the US as a gift. It says here that she symbolizes all of the freedoms that America offers. It also pays tribute to the heroes that died in order to make America 'the land of the free and the home of the brave'. A long time ago people from other places came to America because they were suffering in their homelands. This book also says that the Statue welcomed them here and showed them that they were going to live in a place where they could live 'with liberty and Justice for all'."

Duke skimmed the article. "Ain't that somethin'…" he finally said.

Nosedive looked at the picture. "Hey Duke?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you suppose some day we'll be able to erect our own Statue of Liberty back on Puckworld?"

At the mention of the wars back home, Duke's heart sank. He looked back at the picture. A strange feeling of hope filled him. In Lady Liberty's eyes he saw pain, struggle, oppression, war, death. He saw tragedy, he saw despair. But something else was there. He saw hope, he saw strength, he saw courage. He saw determination, he saw faith, he saw love, he saw glory, he saw pride. He saw victory. He knew that no matter what she saw with those eyes, she could count on a nation to pull together and overcome any obstacle in the name of Liberty. Such precious Liberty.

Duke knew what he had to do. They had to get rid of Dragonnus and his leagues of Saurian scum once and for all. Then maybe Puckworld can taste the same precious liberty as the Lady's people did.

"Yep, I know one day we will. Someday…" said Duke. He put his hand on Nosedive's shoulder. "Now what do you say we go back and get ready to kick some Denver butt?"

"You read my mind!" said Nosedive. He closed the book and left it on the table. And even though they couldn't admit it, the duo left the library with a new found sense of inspiration,
