Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters expect for Leah and John. The song isn't mine either, it's from "Dirty Dancing"

Gabriella Montez pulled yet another box out of her closet. This was the third one that she had unearthed and judging by what she could see, she guessed she still had another 6 or more. What's in this one? I don't remember putting this box together... She opened it up and gasped in surprise.

Inside the box was all of her knick-knacks that she had collected durning her few years at East High. She smiled as she opened up her junior year book and flipped through some of the pages. Gabriella couldn't help but giggle at the signatures that her friends had written on the last day of school. As she was putting down the year book, she noticed a few pieces of paper that were stapled together.

When she picked them up, she was shocked at all of the memories that rushed through her, like water through a broken dam.

'...End of solo career.' 'I find that really hard to believe.' 'Well you sound like you've done a lot of singing too.' 'Yeah my shower head is very impressed with me...'

She fondled the song lyrics to "Breaking Free" as she succumbed to the flash backs.

'Do you remember in kindergarten, how you'd meet a kid, and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you'd be playing like you were best friends, because you didn't have to be anyone but yourself?'

'Because of the callbacks! I can't have people staring at me, I really can't!'

'Hey hey hey, look at me, look right at me. Like the first time we sang together, remember? Like kindergarten.'

Suddenly the door opened and Gabriella's room mate Leah stuck her head in. "Hey girl, we better get a move on or we're going to be late for your rehearsal dinner!" Gabriella smiled and glanced down at the ring on her finger. "I'll be right there, ok?" "It's your wedding..." Leah replied, giving her a "you better hurry up look" before closing the door.

Gabriella looked back down at all of her high school memories and sighed, then put everything back in the box and pushed it back into the closet. She could go through it another day, when she was already married to John and they had settled down a bit.

She shook her head a bit in order to get "Start of Something New" to stop playing in her mind and rushed out of her room and into her new life.

"Now I've had the time of my life, no I've never felt this way before, yes I swear, it's the truth and I owe it all to you..."
