Disclaimer: Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the horizontal lines in this? It's probably just 'cuz I'm stupid, but every single time I click it, that dumb line goes somewhere weird. Oh, yeah, I don't own anything. At all. Yup.

The little Deku scrub runs.

He keeps running, never stopping.

He extends a hand and screams into the fog.

NAVI!

His orange half-moon eyes search wildly, and he screams again.

NAVI, COME BACK!

His steps falter slightly and his form shifts into a sad little boy, changing back soon after.

The little scrub turns into a Goron complete with the same hat as the last one.

His beady purple eyes look around erratically, hoping, wishing.

He starts rolling, hoping to catch up to what he's chasing after.

NAVI!

The form fazes into the boy again, then into a Zora.

The black sclera and the white irises pierce into the distance and he spots a lake in his path.

He dives into it, swimming as fast as he can.

COME BACK!

Finally, he turns into the little boy, his green tunic much too large, spacious boots clopping unevenly, his hat practically falling off his head.

Navi, please! Where are you?

Tears well up in his innocent blue eyes and he runs faster.

His sensitive ears can still hear the kind Hey, Listen! of the one he's searching for.

Navi! Navi, Navi, Navi, Navi, Navi!

His mouth is open silent screams, his muscles burn with every step, and he just wants it back.

Where are you? Please, Navi!

Come back…

He sniffles, opens his eyes again and finds that he's not a boy anymore, he's a god.

White hair, iris-less eyes, blue and red markings decorate his face.

He wields a double-helix sword, and armor with designs of the sun and moon in gold.

But he doesn't feel that way inside.

Inside, he still feels like the crying little boy, hiding in the well of his insecurities.

The little boy cuts out of his larger, stronger, more courageous form with his small dagger of a sword.

The little boy keeps running and running and running.

Until he turns back into the Deku scrub, where the cycle starts.

All.

Over.

Again.

The Song of Time.

A/N: 'Kay, well, that's that.

Oh, I'd just like to mention that I'm gonna be posting a novelization for a game *COUGH COUGH OCARINA COUGH* some time eventually. I'm not done with it yet, so I'd just like to ask anybody who reviews if I should just post the whole thing in one big bang, or post slowly as I keep writing. THANKS FOR READING, AND SEEE YOU LATER!
