Soliloquy
By SMYGO4EVA
They each had something to say, to themselves and to others. The four travelers, Syaoran, Sakura, Fai, and Kurogane, have all had wishes that defy fate itself and wish that all the memories they had would disappear into a black hole that would never be opened again. Alas, they searched for one's memories that were of the utmost importance and for the sake of that one person; they searched in different worlds alike until they would have each and every last one. Only illusions of happiness and love were aflutter all around them, and the realities would soon break them. Break them into a million tiny pieces.
And there would be nothing they could do about it.
It was their own say.
They did have a choice on whether or not they would accept the fates they were dealt.
But…
All in all…
It was still inevitability.
They never saw the difference between reality and dreams; they refused to do so. Their dreams felt so real, almost real to the touch. Things that were once in their dreams suddenly became a part of their true reality, leaving them confused and bewildered, but assured that reality and fantasy would soon amalgamate. They soon learned that it was all smoke and mirrors, lies to each other and to themselves, and they were soon products and pawns in past misconceptions and present fairytales, leaving them empty and with nothing left to their true names.
Syaoran wished he would save the one he truly cared for when he had the chance, so they would live peacefully in their own utopia. He yearned for the day that he and his princess would be able to spend their days in harmony, away from the turbulence of reality.
Sakura wished that she would be able to remember. She wanted to remember everything, from insignificant details to the biggest adventure. Because then, she would know the joys of having, and keeping, memories.
Fai wished to get away from the place created by the misfortune his existence had brought upon his country and never ever go back. He wanted to start a new life – a new life with new people and new memories. Anything would be fine; just as long as he didn't return to the land he once knew.
Kurogane wished to become more powerful than all warriors combined, to be stronger and shed the blood of anyone who opposed him, and to protect the ones who he cared for dearly. He wanted to be the strongest so he would one day destroy the one because he thought it was right. He wanted to come back home to the person he was most loyal to.
Their realities and their wishes differed entirely. Even if they did get what they wanted, it would not add up to the dreams inside their minds. In which, their own soliloquies would have to suffice for now.
