Author's Note: My first actual drabble! From a prompt thrown at me by a friend on LJ.

It was simple. The way they sat, side by side, backs to the wall behind them, shoulders almost touching.

Simple. Simple like the juice box in one boy's hand. Unlike the difficult, intricate needlework in the other's.

Simple like the way their elbows collided after every stitch, or the way each draw on the juice box coincided with every other elbow jut, unhindered by it. The way he never had to look to know he was there, or say anything to know he was listening.

They were held together as if by a long, thin but strong, red thread.

Simple.
