"Why?" I asked, as we stopped at a red light. Both my parents looked over the shoulder of their front seats at my younger brother Ryan and then at me.

"Well," continued dad, "your mom and I have been thinking about it and, well, we think it's for the best of the family."

"What?" I screamed, "Mom, dad you can't be serious!"

"Xavier, enough" said mom.

"Chesterville is not a bad town son, I am sure you'll love it there" said dad.

"But dad," I started before mom screamed "Xavier!"

I couldn't help but feel betrayed, so I just put my head on the headrest and crossed my arms in defeat. We were officially moving, and I couldn't do anything to prevent it. The whole car was dead quiet for the rest of the ride home, my mom and brother both looked out their windows, dad had one hand on the wheel and the other hand over his mouth, as if he were deep in thought and me… I just sat there.

Once we got home, I get out of the car as quick as I could and then yelled "Why can't anyone in this family think of anyone else before making decisions?" before I slammed the door and started to run into the house. Dad got out of the car and tried to yell my name, but I was too far away to hear, much less care.

I didn't stop running until I got to my room, but I should have known that Sasha and Brooks would be waiting. I knew I should have not made two Hide-a-keys for those two, but even then they'd still sneak into my window. I walked in and slammed the door, and they both looked at me almost as if they knew.

"What happened?" said Brooks.

"I'm moving, in the winter!" I yelled.

"What?" they both yelled in unison.

"Exactly, dad just told us in the car"

"Why?" replied Sasha.

I heard Ryan come up the stairs, I knew it was him since he always sounded like a dead body being dragged down the stairs when he was on stairs, and start walking to his room, then mom and dad started walking up the stairs. I heard one of them knocking at my door and yelled "what?" when I heard my dad say "Can we talk to you for a sec?"

"Okay" I said before locking my door, "done."

I could hear my mom talking to him, but I couldn't make out much of what she said. I heard "well, this is going well" but I wasn't sure what she meant, so I stopped ease dropping and went to the back of my bed and collapsed on it.
