Physical Reminders
Kakashi loves the little reminders that proves what he has with Iruka is real. KakaIru
'Umino Iruka is messy.' Kakashi thought as he tripped, yet again, on the sandals left in front of the door. Immediately the smell of burnt rice and vegetables permeated through the whole room. Kakashi tried not to breathe deeply as he righted Iruka's shoes and placed his own next to them.
There were damp uniforms left on the couch. Most likely they were washed and then forgotten. Kakashi eyed the clothes thoughtfully. At least they were clean. Kakashi sighed as he passed the kitchen. The area was a disaster. Iruka had tried to cook again; dirty dishes were piled in the sink and on the stove, and leftover food lay along the counter.
Wearily Kakashi stepped into the one room Iruka was forbidden to enter. This room held his ghosts. His memories of the Fourth and Obito. And also hidden deep within the shadows, lay his ANBU persona. He really needed to dust in here.
Kakashi kept walking into his bedroom. Iruka lay on the bed, papers strewn all around him. A marking pen lay, gripped loosely, in his hand. Kakashi smiled as he gathered the papers and covered the chuunin with a blanket. Kakashi sat next to the sleeping Iruka and brushed the hair from his face. Iruka shifted and rolled to curl up against the jounin. His body heat warming Kakashi more than he ever thought possible. That was what turned this place from an empty apartment into a messy home.
