The summer heat presses down on me

I feel sweat trickle down my neck

My hair is plastered to my face

I'm waiting for fall to come

It has the perfect weather

Not too hot and not too cold

My eyes are dry and I can never cry

That's the reason I haven't healed since you died

I'll always feel incomplete without you here

So I'll burn and continue to yearn for you

The summer heat presses down on me

While my hair is plastered to my face

I'm on fire and I think I'll be like this forever

The flame lick my body hungrily

Waiting for the day

I will give up the good fight

And I wish for a cool sip of water

To save me from this Hell on Earth

You see I've forgotten everything but you

People who claim to be my friends and family

Visit quite often and beg me to remember them

And sometimes I almost can

But the fire is unrelenting

It never rests and I stay its victim

Only feeling the pain

It made me go insane

I wish it were fall

Then I could put out this raging fire

So I beg you to tap those ivory keys (piano man)

Play me something to help me forget

I want to be blissfully ignorant

It calms the raging fire in my soul

I may not have burn marks on my skin

But my heart has been burnt and charred

It's beyond recognition and it's all my fault

Because I dared to play with fire

And at first the sting was exhilarating

Until I tried to stop

Then it became not just a sting but a blazing

My heart had caught fire you see

It was like a wildfire had been let loose

And with every beat it got bigger and bigger

Now there is no hope for me

As the summer heat presses down on me

I feel the sweat trickle down my neck

And my hair is plastered to my face

At times I think it will engulf me

And that I'll just melt away

But when I hear soft piano music play

It soothes my soul

And I can almost remember...
