Shout out to Serene Cullen for the wonderful character prompt! ^-^

Chapter one
Steve Rogers stood alone at a large mahogany desk, rummaging through the deep drawers slowly, carefully looking at each item before placing it gently atop the desk. Letters, cards, fliers and photos, all belonging to the same person, lay scattered across the smooth surface.
He paused in his search, finding an old, tattered notebook, with a faded name on the cover.
Alexandra Coulson.
His expression was cold, showing no emotion. Handling the book, he ran his thumb over the slightly smudged name before flipping it open to inspect the contents.
He was met with a surprise. He had been expecting short stories and poetry like what she had shown him before, but instead he had stumbled upon something far different, something more personal, her diary.
He snapped the book closed, feeling like he was intruding on her thoughts, and cset it on the desk, turning back to sorting through the contents of the drawers, the notebook quickly leaving his mind.
Eventually, he tired of sifting through the memories. It was futile, all it did was cause more pain and bring back the image of her tear stained face as she had faded away.
He could've stopped this from happening, but he hadn't been fast enough.
He could have saved her.
The bricks broke, forming a hole around his hand as he punched the nearest wall as hard as he could. In the recoil, the diary caught his eye once more, and this time he picked it up and flipped it open to the first page where her life was spilt out on the paper.
((I apologize for the short chapter, I promise that later on the chapters will be longer! ))
