If Rose stayed on the rowboat…
Jack's POV
I was on the back of a sinking ship. Not a sinking ship, the TITANIC. The unsinkable ship. Thank God Rose was safe.
I climbed over the railing in order to cling on for as long as possible, when I noticed Helga, the girl Fabrizio had feelings for, even though they couldn't speak the same language.
"Helga." I called offering her my hand. She looked up at me, her face dirty with tears. She took my hand and I pulled her over the railing. I was going to protect her, for Fabri, for my best friend.
We were sinking down further and further. The Titanic was almost submerged.
"Helga, on the count of three we have to jump." I think she understood. "One, two, THREE!"
The water was bitterly freezing, I was so cold instantly I couldn't even think straight. A man was pushing Helga down to keep afloat. I knocked him away.
"Come on," I pulled her towards a bit of debris, and she climbed on it. I tried to but it wouldn't stay floating if I did. Thank God Rose was safe.
"Stay on this. Don't get off until a boat comes." I told her slowly praying she could comprehend. When I swam away, she made no move to follow, hopefully she'd stay safe. For Fabri at least. A man was blowing a whistle.
I swam in order to find something I could float on, I came across a… well I don't know what it was, it may have been part of a table, but it sort of worked and I managed to keep my head chest and arms above water.
I was tired and cold, and people had stopped struggling. Most of my thoughts were of Rose, how much I loved her, how much I hoped she had a good long life, and would die an old woman in her bed, and how I'd never get to tell her these things.
I tried desperately to stay awake, but it was if my eyes were sticking together every time I blinked. Thank God Rose was safe.
I heard some voices, water splashing, but it was the whistle that made me jump.
"Oi over there. I see movement."
Well there you have it, my first Titanic FanFiction. I thought Jack would too much of a gentleman, to not save someone else if Rose wasn't there. It's up to you whether Jack lives or not.
