The Daughters of Fayte
The Sons of Ipswitch are in college now, trying to resist the temptation of using their powers, but some one is lurking in the background, trying to take their powers away. In this college town are the Daughters of Fayte. Are they another covenant?
Chapter One - The Daughters
"Five for the five points of the star. If battle should ever break out, in the end, there may be only one."
Eve Toller wiped her platinum-blonde hair from her eyes and let out a sigh of contempt. She sat slouched in Fateton University's Library over her Essentials of Chemistry book, tapping her pencil off of the book as she tried to memorize the Table of Elements.
A moment later she felt her body turn to ice. She was so cold she could barely breath. As she looked up, she noticed everyone else in the library was gone. Something was wrong. It was midday and this library was usually packed with people at this time. She stood quickly, rubbing her half bare arms as she did so, and ran to the library's northern doors. They were shut and locked.
"What the hell is going on…" She pulled at the thick linked chains on the door and held the padlock in her hands. Something wasn't right. She focused on the lock, in her mind imagining the inner workings of it turning. Her eyes blackened as the lock unlatched itself and fell to the floor.
Another strong chill fell over her, this time, chilling her to the core. Her fingers were numb and sore, but she used them to pull the chain from the door. She pulled at the door handle. It wouldn't budge.
Eve fell to the ground as a sharp pain penetrated her heart. "Gabrielle!" She cried out just before she lost consciousness.
Caleb's eyes shot open. He was sweating. Had he felt a power again? He hadn't felt power like that since Chase was in Ipswitch. His head was pounding when he pulled himself up and out of bed.
It had been three years since he last saw Chase. Not too long after their battle he and the rest of the covenant moved to Pennsylvania together to go to Fateton University. They had finished off their last year but wanted to leave everything behind. They all had hopes of going to college and wanted to stick together and since Reid couldn't get into Harvard without using his gifts, the covenant came here together.
They had bought a house a few miles outside of Fateton, deep in the woods where they hoped no one would bother them. It was safe enough for a while to store the book and all of their covenant necessities in the old crypt down the hill from the house, but if Chase was back, nothing would be safe.
