Blood and Water

Just a short story I made while watching Playful Kiss episode 16. :) Haha! This I made out of boredom, so please, be kind to me. :)

"That's it. I am leaving!" Sakura Mikan grumbled, grabbing her bag as she stood up.

The rest of the class just stared at her, wide-eyed, as she stomped her way out of the classroom. Everybody was just too shocked at her sudden outburst to stop her.

Narumi looked at the back and saw some of the boys near Ruka and Natsume chuckling. He crossed his arms and asked, "Mind telling me what happened?"

With a bored look, Natsume, who had a hand under his chin and was reading a comic book at that time, looked up at the teacher.

"Ask." he replied, pointing at Ruka and Hotaru beside him. The blond boy blushed and just looked down. Hotaru rolled her eyes, although her cheeks were tainted a light pink.

"I... I was just telling Hotaru something..." Ruka explained, blushing furiously. "I said that she... she's like water, because I..."

"Because you...?" Narumi prodded. The other students were looking at them curiously, waiting for the continuation of Ruka's sentence.

Ruka took a deep breath. "I can't... live without her."

The class broke into squeals and cheers. Hotaru was looking down in embarrassment, avoiding all the looks her classmates gave her.

Narumi look surprised. "Well... what about Mikan-chan?"

"She... umm... asked Natsume if she was water to him too."

"What did you say, Natsume-kun?" the other girls asked him, wondering what in the world he could've said to make Mikan upset.

When Natsume didn't appear to be willing to answer, Ruka did it for him. "Natsume said that... Sakura-san was like blood."

The class looked at the said boy with a confused look. "Blood?"

Natsume put his comic book down, looking uncomfortable. "Yeah."

"Why?"

"Because blood is thicker than water."

The boys erupted into laughter and even some girls started giggling. "Well, that was so thick of her to ask."

"But..."

Silence.

"People are always afraid to lose blood because they can't live without it." Natsume stood up and started leaving the room. "I forgot to tell her that."

That was enough to put the whole room in an uproar. The black-haired boy however, just calmly walked outside, holding a comic book in his hand, to go after Mikan,

While the rest of the room whispered amongst themselves, some jealous, some happy, some amused and amazed, Narumi just sat stunned on his chair, shaking his head. He could see Ruka smiling shyly at Hotaru who was looking at him with a small smile on her lips. And he could almost imagine Mikan and Natsume walking happily together. Narumi leaned back and let a smile grace his lips.

"Kids today."

Short and... uh... corny? XD Well, I'm so sorry, I kinda got carried away with them again. :)

Thanks a bunch for reading!
