Gecko Moria was a simple man
His true future dream was to become the pirate king; (his 'other' dream didn't really work out that well…)
If he were to take a guess, he would think that if he were any younger than he was now, this situation may have been laughable. But no; he was much too old and had too much free time to spare for this to be an aggravating thorn in his side.
So against the horrified wails coming from his underlings, he signed the contract that would forever haunt him.
