The tent, after being lived in for so long, didn't seem all that small. But right now it did feel empty. Ron and Hermione had gone out to get some wild mushrooms, leaving Harry to guard the tent. He didn't want to stay, his hands itching to do something, but, he didn't have a good argument against Hermione, who said, rightly so, that he needed the rest. So there he was, sitting in the tent, waiting for them to come back.

Before they left Hogwarts, Harry was very much in doubt about his decision to let those two come with him. Half of him wanted to leave right after Hogwarts, didn't want to wait, lose time. But he did not want to disappoint Mrs. Weasley, so he tagged along with Ron, thinking that once the wedding is over, he will slip off quietly, without telling either of them.

His first shock came with Mad-Eye. He wasn't even all that close to him, but his death did seem like a waste. It was his first indication that in the present situation, anyone with him or close to him was not safe. Mad Eye died just transporting him from one place to the next, what will happen to those who helped him in defeating him? He didn't want to contemplate that, it would be better if he left then and there. But as everyone said, Mad-Eye's death will actually be a waste if he went out there with Death Eaters roaming around. So he stayed.

The next morning when he woke up, he decided that this time he was definitely going to convince them into ditching the idea of coming with him. He was so sure that he will be able to convince them, that Hermione's revelation at first completely threw him off guard. She'd done what!? Before harry could even begin recovering from that, the ghoul had startled him even more. At least Hermione's family was out of the way, but the Weasley's would be front in the line of fire if something happened.

And Ron was still ready to come with him. They both were.

That was when he understood that they did indeed understand the risks, and still deemed him worthy enough to take those risks for him. They had really decided to go with him in the common room all those years ago.

Harry could hear both of them coming back, their feet crunching the dried leaves surrounding the tent. They were talking, which was an improvement since last week.

"So you practically invented a new spell?", Ron was saying.

"No. I just modified the poison detecting one to work on wild plants as well."Hermione said.

"Okay, how's that not inventing a new spell?"

"It's not, its modifying one."

Ron entered the tent shaking his head.

"You took a spell which detected poison in cooked food, changed it so it could detected eatable wild plants too- that's completely changing the essence of the spell!"

"No it isn't- honestly Ron did you pay attention in any of our classes-"

Hermione continued ranting, dropping the collected plants and such in Harry's lap as it was his turn to cook. After the arguments they had in the beginning about cooking and chores, they decided to develop daily rotations.

As Harry went to the kitchen to see what they had collected and try and transfigure it into something eatable, both Ron and Hermione continued to bicker in the background.

It was comforting for him to hear those two- he felt like he was home.
