[Coat and Fangs] Chapter 1: Arrival
The sky shines and the sun glimmers through the dew of the morning leaves, leaving a glistening image to the stranger city I am in. My discontentness is not noticed by my parents, and I just shrug it off. "Welcome to Valendale", says the signboard which shows of mold and fungi growth. That must be a good sign. 15 years and only now they decided to move away from the city I was born in. I mean, I could still text my friends, but it just isn't the same like everyone says. I feel a bit nauseous upon entering the suburbs, which the houses look like what old people live in. I seriously hope the town population isn't comprised of old people, working age people and babies.
My phone vibrates and I glance upon it, getting a text from Lisha. The text reads, "So, like, are you in town yet?", added with a curious emoji at the end of it. I text back, "I wish I was still back in our city, this is just ugh tier.", I reply while trying to find which house that I am going to be doomed in.
The car goes to a sudden stop, but I have gotten used to the rebound that the car has had for 10 years already. I get out of the car, and glance at the blue sky, and take my luggage out. "Becca, come up to see your new room", exclaims my dad, already getting a head start at the dull life we're going to have here. "Okay, dad!"
As I enter through the door, the first thing I notice is the tiring color of the wall, painted a downer green. While my parents are browsing through the kitchen, my tired self goes up and tries to find the bedroom. I sigh as I look upon the door, labelled "Beca", already the first thing that is going wrong in this musty town. Brushing off the mistakes of the previous owners, I open my door and immediately jump onto my bed, without any single care of what is going on right now.
I look at my phone and see another text that has went in. "LOL girl, I'm gonna bust you out like it's Prison Break!". A faint smile comes out of my face which quickly returns to a washed out face. I think I'm just gonna take a nap for now, until this horrid dream is over.
