Hermione couldn't stop her tears from falling down. It was over. The battle was won. The sacrifices were made. As she walked away from the Weasley family mourning over Fred, she didn't even try to hold her tears back. It was all too surreal. She needed a moment alone, just like Harry who was sitting away from the Great Hall, away from Fred,Lupin,Tonks and all of the other heros, away from Ron and away from Ginny. Although she saw him, she didn't walked to him. She walked to the opposite side. She sat down as her thoughts and emotions were getting too heavy for her to carry. She wanted to be there for Ron but she didn't know how to be there, for the first time in her life, she didn't know how to be there for Ronald Weasley. After all those things they've been through she thought that everyone needed a moment alone. Her mind started to wonder, would anything from that night would be neglected, surely nothing would be forgotten. What about their kiss? It was too horrible to think about that at that moment but she couldn't stop herself from remembering his strong grip on her and his warm lips brushing hers. Her tired eyes closed at the memory of him. She was so sleepless but this wasn't the time to rest. What was this time for actually? To mourn? But they have just defeated Lord Voldemort but obviously it wasn't the time to celebrate. She just wished Ron was next to her now. She opened her eyes and saw Ron looking down at her with red eyes, she just stared into his eyes for a moment, like she could see his broken soul.

"Hermione" he said like a whisper with a heavy tone of tiredness. She get up immediately and wrapped her arms around him, she buried her head on his shoulder but she hold herself from crying. He didn't. Ron was crying, his world was falling apart while all of the others were safe, thanks to him, thanks to Harry, thanks to Hermione. They stayed like that for a stopped crying but he didn't let go of a long while, he slowly separated his arms from her and she let go of him just as slowly as he did. They still stayed close without touching each other. Hermione could read his thoughts just by looking at his eyes, she could see his broken heart from his eyes. A single teardrop glide down to her cheek and Ron placed his hand on her cheek and wiped it away with his thumb and just like that, they both knew it. They both knew all the unspoken answers, they both knew that they were going to start a new life, sooner or later. Everything was unspoken but it couldn't be clearer. Ron leaned in, desperate for comfort and she kissed him full on the mouth gently as her hands cupped his face. As their lips separated, Ron held her hand and they walked over to Harry and for a short moment it all felt right.
