"Hey Jack?"
"Hmm?"
"D'you know what's wrong with Lady D?"
"Yeah, she found out who took Ichabod."
"Who?"
"Writer named Lostboysdavidsgirl"
"That's a mouthful."
"Yup, anyway she's busy seething. Give her a bit longer and she'll be out with plans to mount a rescue operation."
Van sighed, relieved. He knew Jack would know why Darkdancer was throwing breakable objects at the wall. Van greatly looked up to Jack, who seemed very world wise, as well as possessing a most unusual charm.
The muses calmly went about their routines, ignoring the woman who, running out of throw able objects, had gotten herself a baseball bat and was utilizing it against the things she couldn't throw, such as the television.
Finally, her anger spent Darkdancer called a conference of her muses to decide how to best rescue Ichabod. The plan was set out fairly quickly and the remainder of this fic was spent trying to convince Darkdancer that it wasn't necessary to burn down the rival author's fortress.
"Why can't I burn it down? It would make a great distraction."
"Jack can manage that by himself." Tom assured her.
"But- but I don't want Jack in danger."
"Thanks for the concern luv, but I can handle meself. 'Sides it'll be fun."
"So would a fire."
"Unless it grew out of control." Elaith pointed out.
"So I'll borrow Pyro from X-men and get him to control it."
"Isn't he insane?" Van asked, having joined Jack in watching Evo.
"Only a little."
"Too dangerous." Tom insisted.
"But fire's so preeety."
Elaith snorted, "You just want revenge on her for stealing Ichabod."
Darkdancer's eyes glowed alarmingly, "Yiss Yiss, we wants to get her for stealing our precious Cabi, preciouuusss."
"You been watchin' Two Towers again?" Jack asked suspiciously.
Darkdancer's eyes became perfectly innocent, "Why would you say that?"
"You know, the longer we debate this the more likely it is that Ichabod will get hurt." Tom pointed out.
"No! She can't hurt my Cabi! We have to save him! C'mon!" Darkdancer ran out the door.
"Whew." her muses sighed
"And don't forget the matches!" She shouted back.
