Sam woke up with his feet cold and his arm numb. A quick glance confirmed Sam's suspicion: The blanket was on Dean's side of the bed.
Sam reached over to grab it back when he noticed the weight on his numb arm - Dean was using it as a pillow.
"Uh... Dean?"
Dean muttered in his sleep and curled in closer, pressing his back to Sam's side.
Sam bit his lip and tried for the blanket again.
Dean stirred. "Sam, if you want it," he untangled their legs – Sam hadn't noticed that either – and tossed the blanket over them, "ask."
This was inspired by Enkidu07's comment on "Beds." "Comfy sleeping quarters" indeed!
The original draft was 183 words long, so I was a little sad to have to cut the story in half.
The next chapter, though, is the extended (or is it original?) version.
