Old friend
Heero got up early Saturday morning after a long week of working at the locale mechanic
shop. The war ended three years ago and now every one went on about there normal lives
with normal jobs. Heero took a shower and brushed his teeth getting ready to me someone
special. He got dressed in black pants and a dark blue shirt. Going to his fridge he grabbed a
picnic basket that he had prepared the night before. He left his apartment and went down to
the parking garage to his jeep.
He stopped over by a flower shop were Noin now worked. He went in and asked here for a
dozen red roses. As she wrapped them in the protective clear plastic she asked "Are these
for him?" Heero nodded yes. She handed him the flowers. Heero went to reach for his
wallet when Noin shook her head. "There on me." "Thanks" He replied; turned and left to
return to his car. When he was gone a single tear ran down Noin's face
Heero drove along the highway for about an hour before turning onto a back road. He
looked at the clock which read 11:35. 'Damn I said I'd meet him at 12:00' He said to
himself. He drove for another half hour before coming to a small clearing. He got out of
the jeep and grabbed the basket and flowers before heading down a steep path which lead
into a small valley filled with trees and grass. He went over to a fairly intact wreckage of a
gundam that was hidden from view. He looked around and wound he was alone. He looked
at his watch the read 12:05.
He walked over to the gundam and laid out a blanket next to it. He pulled out two plates
and put them on the blanket. "SorryI'm late Duo." Heero said taking the flowers and
placing them in frontof a grave stone that was next to the gundam. He then looked up at the
fallen deathscythe. "I'll aways wait for you my love" It may have only been the wind but
Heero knew it was Duo. Heero finally sat down and began to eat the lunch he had brought
talking to his friend about what he did during theweek and how every one is doing now the
war is over. "I love you Duo" Heero said befor bitting into a sandwich.
