It started when James suggested they move in together after Hogwarts. The idea was perfect for them. They were in love, they had a war to fight, and when things got too rough, they could escape to their own world. Leading up to the day they finally moved everything in into their apartment over a shop in diagon alley, Lily had been decorating one room that she had forbade James from entering. This agrangement droves james mad; but, he loved her enough to stay out.
As Lily put the final box down in their kitchen, she felt James's strong arms around Lily's middle.
"here we are Lil. Home sweet home."
"I could get used to that" she said smiling. James turned Lily around to give her a quick kiss."
"Lily I promise, this is going to be a Marauder-free zone. Just you and me." At that, Lily couldn't help but laugh. SHe knew the guys would be there later. Even without inviting them over, the guys would come over for a night of drinking, and Sirius acting like a child.
"Okay sweetheart, whatever you say" she said laughing as stepped out of his embrace. As James went to pick up the box Lily had set down, there was a furious banging at the door. Lily felt herself grab at her wand, as James quietly set the box to the floor. He grabbed his wand. They each walked to the door, just as two who were trained by the Order would do. Lily looked at James.
Lily mouthed: "one...two...three...". They Opened the door to see Sirius, Remus, and Peter standing there each holding a bottle of firewiskey.
"put down your wands. you look ridiculous" Sirius said as he walked in the apartment,.
"sorry. I told him to send over an owl." Remus hugged Lily as he walked in.
"your place looks lovely." Peter said timidly, entering behind the others. Lily sighed, and shut the door after him. Sirius kissed Lily on the cheek.
"Come on boys; i have something to show you." James looked at Lily quizicly as she led the Maurauders to the room she had forbade James from entering. "welcome...To your home away from home." Lily opened the door to show three beds. each had a stuffed animal on the beds. A wolf, a rat, and a black dog. The three boys who represnted the animals walked into the room with excitment. James hung back to loveingly embrace Lily.
"You are the most amazing person I have ever met. Thank you. For everything."
"James, for you, I'd do anything."
"I love you. So much." James looked down at Lily, smiling down at her. Lily wrapped her arms around him; she put her head to his chest, watching the boys discover their new room.
"So much for a Marauder-free zone, huh?"
