Chapter One-

Germany was having a stressful day. All day at work, he dealt with idiots. Coming home, he was expecting a little relaxation. Possibly he could sit down and- "RING RING RING!" Germany looked towards his ringing phone. At times like this, he really wished he had caller ID.

With a sigh, he picked up the phone, "Hallo?"

"Ve, Germany help, help me! I'm lost! Please help, it's really scary outside and dark and- HELP MEEE, VE!"

The German rubbed his temples in irritation. Lost? Was that some sort of emergency?

"Ja, alright, I'll come help you...do you have any idea where you could be?"

The Italian answered, "Hmm...well I was going to your house and I got distracted by some pretty girls but then I didn't know where I was and it was starting to get dark and there are lots of trees- I mean like trees everywhere- but I can't find-"

"ITALY! Shut up and tell me some USEFUL information! You say you are nearby?"

"S-si."

"Good. Stay put and...hug a tree or something. Don't go wandering off."

"Yes sir! Don't be long..."

"Goodbye, Italy." And with that Germany hung up the phone and grabbed his coat. Without bothering to lock the door behind him, he stepped out into the brisk winter evening.

The small Italian shook as he waited next to his tree. Where was Germany? It was getting really cold outside... A tremor ran through the auburn haired nation as he thought, Ve...Germany sounded so mad on the phone...I hope he doesn't yell at me...

The snap of a twig brought Italy's attention back. He jumped, shaking more than before. "C-ciao?" he asked, apprehensive of what it could be. A rabbit darted away, into another bush, and Italy sighed with relief. He wondered how long he had been sitting there...half an hour, maybe? It was now fully dark, and as much as the Italian wanted to obey orders and sit next to the tree, he doubted Germany would find him there. So with a despondent "Ve", he stood up, brushing leaves and dirt off himself.

Germany had thought everything out carefully. If Italy had been walking to his house, then the German had a set path to follow. All he had to do was walk towards Italy's house.

Halfway there, he was walking by a wooded area of the path, admiring the setting sun. Where could Italy be, he wondered, It isn't a challenging walk...

Not long after, he heard something in the forestry on his right. Turning around, he saw someone making their way out of the leaves and onto the path.

"Hallo?" He asked, not seeing what someone would be doing in a forest at this time.

"Germany! There you are! Ve, you found me! Grazie, Germany, thank you!" The Italian nation practically leaped into Germany's arms. The latter, though, did not return the favor.

"Italy..." He said cautiously.

The Italian nation ignored him. "Ve, I'm so glad you found me! I thought I would be there forever and forever is a long time, especially when you don't have pasta- pasta! I could really go for some right now, ve-"

"ITALY!" Yelled Germany, finally silencing the other. Italy looked at him. "Ve...?" He asked.

"Italy...go home." whispered Germany, turning around to face the direction he came. "It's right behind you, if you can't figure that out for yourself." And with that, Germany began to walk home, leaving his Italian friend behind.
