Prologue: Origin
The winds of Cybertron blew in fast paced intervals. The sights and sounds were the only things that could keep up with them. How do I know this? I'm sitting on top of a ledge on one of the tallest buildings in Kaon, for starter. I'm also saying this all because even though my optics are dead, I can tell where any bot is at any time. That's right. I'm a blind femme. However, my blindness is not as glorious as it sounds….
It was all the result of an experiment gone horribly awry.
My mate, or at this stage, what humans call my 'husband', and I were trying to see if Cryo-Acid can be transported with other substances to other planets via Space Bridge, at hyperspace velocity without losing stability.
"Poor the solutions into the canister carefully, my love. We don't want to mix the two together," he told me. I turned to face him.
"For the last time, Shockwave, I have this," I finally told him, "it won't turn out like last time."
"Last time, half the city was blown up…." He spoke whilst mixing two chemicals together to create more testing Cryo-Acid. I turned again to face him.
"That was an accident and you know it, Shocks," I spoke as I placed the canister within the Bridge. I never realized it, but one of our sparklings crawled her way into the space bridge.
"It was an accident that we're still-wait, where did Moonrise go?" Shockwave spoke, worry becoming more evident. I looked him in the optic as I spoke in reply and activated the space bridge.
"What do you mean? Moonrise is right-"I turned to see that, to my horror, Moonrise had crawled herself into the bridge playing with the canister.
"Shocks! She's in the bridge! Shut it down!" I spoke urgently, knowing in my spark that it may be too late.
"I can't! It's not responding to my override command!" he exclaimed. I immediately went to my last resort: I jumped in at the last second, scooped Moonrise in my arms, but then something horrifying happened. I dropped the canister as I fled the space bridge. The contents spilled, and an explosion happened. What happened after that, I can't recall. All I know is that after I woke up, it was as if I was still out cold. Everything was black, although…other…discoveries made themselves known. My remaining senses were at God-like levels; The back-up radar that activates when my sight goes offline kicked into overdrive, my audio receptors wincing at the sound of a supernova millions of miles away.
I stand from my position on the ledge as I spot something occurring in the building across from my position. I smile wryly as I prep to kick some skid plate.
"Looks like this night won't be so quiet after all….." I say as I aim my staff at the ledge across from me, "Time to teach some punks who not to mess with!"
Sj: Yeah, yeah….I know it ain't the best work I have done so far, but trust me when I say you'll know where I am going with this story. The original prologue, which, as we speak, I have in my lap along with my computer, went much deeper into her origin….but I decided that it's best to end the prologue here, not make your minds crash, and sprinkle what's left of Veronica/Daredevil's origin throughout the rest of the story. I also would love to know what you guys think of this story *whether or not it totally sucks and if I should continue into my new Transformers/Marvel 'What if…?' series.*
Anyway, thank you to those who still continue to read my stories, even with the lengthy periods between updates/new stories. You guys have NO idea how much I appreciate the love!
