"Daniel!"

His head snapped around and the P-90 came up instantly at Vala's troubled scream. "Where are you!" He called out frantically. They'd been looking for her for hours. Teal'c and Mitchell had headed to the Stargate to check in and get help in scanning for her locator.

"Up here. In the tower. I'm trapped."

His gaze lifted upwards toward the turret. She was waving, grinning down at him. "How the hell did you get up there?" He said with a heavy dose of irritation.

"Some twirly stairs. Then the door slammed shut, hit me in the head and knocked me out. I'm the princess in the tower needing rescue."

"Are you alright? Where's your radio? And it's not a tower, it's a turret."

"Oh forgive me! Tower – turret, who cares, I'm trapped and my head is pounding and I'm dizzy. I dropped my radio climbing the stairs."

"I'm on my way. You scared the hell out of me. Why you have to go off wandering and getting into trouble is beyond me. I have half a mind to….." His words trailed off as he disappeared into the stone structure.

Vala waited impatiently, sprawled in the large chair. Finally he burst the door open. She grinned. "Look what I found. Can I keep it?" She adjusted the large jeweled crown on her head, but otherwise remained seated.

"Not a chance. Are you okay?" Daniel slammed the door shut.

His concern warmed her heart because she knew he was only cranky because he cared. "Yes. But isn't it lovely, don't you think some princess must have been trapped up here and rescued by her prince. I don't see why I can't keep it. No one is living here anymore."

"Leave it. Besides, it clashes with the large and red bump on your forehead." He leaned over her and pushed the crown back then gently ran a finger across the swelling.

"Then I shall throw myself from the tower-turret!"

"And I shall be denied my chance to rescue a princess."

She rose from the large throne-like chair and approached him as he moved back. "Alright, you may rescue me. Obviously the captured princess left it behind when she was rescued."

"Obviously." He murmured breathless because she'd come so close to him he could feel her body heat.

Her hand caressed his cheek. "Thank you, darling. I am your princess forever."

He planted a quick kiss on her lips. "And I am your prince. Forever. Just don't tell anyone. Now, let's get out of here." He thumbed his radio. "Mitchell, I found your princess. We'll meet you at the Gate."

"Really, Daniel? Forever?" She said over Mitchell's radio reply.

"And ever." Daniel confessed with a wide grin. "Now please let's get out of here." He yanked on the door handle but nothing happened. After many useless attempts Daniel hit the radio button. "Mitchell? Do you read? Mitchell?"

"I'm taking the crown, Daniel." Vala said matter-of-factly leaning over his shoulder, chin nestling into the crook of his neck.

"Fine! Keep the damned thing!" Daniel griped. "Mitchell? Mitchell do you read?"
