Thoughts in Battle
Disclaimer: I never have, do not currently, and never will own "The Chronicles of Narnia." I'm just writing this stuff for my own amusement.
Summary: The thoughts of Sir Peter Wolf's-Bane as he fights at the First Battle of Beruna. A mix of both the 2005 movie and the book.
"Edmund! There are too many! Get the girls, and get them home!"
At least I can fulfill my promise to Mum: to look after the others. Edmund's grown up a bit. He will protect the rest of the family now. Why are there so many minotaurs? It's like the gryphons didn't hit any of them. That was close. It's good this shield is so strong. If only someone could stop that wand! At this rate she'll need a bigger courtyard to keep all her new statues in. I don't know if I can stand many more of these minions of hers.
What was that? Her wand's broken! Wait. Edmund? Why are you still here? Edmund, look out! NO!
"EDMUND!"
No! I'm seeing things! It can't be! She's looking at me. She's expecting me. Fine. She won't get both of us without a fight. She'll pay for what she did to Edmund. And Aslan. And Oreius, along with everyone else. Ow. Let's see…only a scratch. It's like she enjoys this. Well, even if she does get me, I'll make it less fun for her.
What was that? That sounds like…ASLAN! And he's not alone. Maybe we do have a chance. The Witch isn't very happy. I don't think she's having fun now. This hard, but I think I can make it. I'm falling…ouch. Where is she? She's right over me. Why is she aiming for my shoulder…
"AHHH!"
So that's why. I can't move. Still, I have my shield…Not anymore. This is it. She's going to kill me. I'm sorry Edmund. I tried. Wait, what's that? Where'd the Witch go? That blur of golden-brown…Aslan? Is that who it was? Let's see if I can get up. It is Aslan. He killed the Witch. He did what I couldn't.
My sisters? Where did they come from? Careful Lucy, that arm still hurts. Susan…How will I tell them what happened to Edmund?
"He was terribly wounded. We must go and see him."
What is that dwarf doing? Good shot, Susan. Oh Edmund…Don't give up! You fought so bravely. Why couldn't you listen to me? Why did you have to turn back? Don't die on me. No. Why isn't the cordial working? NO! Don't leave us! Wait…can it be? Yes! The cordial worked! Come here you idiot! You're getting a hug, whether you like it or not. Don't scare us like that!
"When are you going to learn to do as you're told?"
