DISCLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter A/N: A small something that came to me one night when I couldn't sleep Enjoy!
She hated it here, in this locked room, with no escape. What if they came for her? She had no where to run, no where to hide. She remembered the last time they came, the bright lights, shouting, pain and fear. She knew there was something those people had wanted, but she couldn't remember what it was. She couldn't didn't see their faces, but she knew who they had been. At least until they made her forget. Now she could only remember glimpses of them, with their black robes, masks, harsh voices and rough hands.
And now? Now she was trapped in a room with only a bed, a cupboard and a man who shared with her. She didn't know his name, but she knew he was friendly and that he seemed to suffer just as much as her. Neither of them could use their voices; they didn't know how. Instead, they gestured timidly to one another with their hands, knowing instinctively what the other meant. It was like they were connected somehow, though she couldn't understand it.
She felt safe with him when he held her hand. He made her laugh when he blew bubbles with those chewy sweets and they burst on his face. But what made her even happier was the young boy who came to visit with an old lady. She could never remember what his name was, which made her angry with herself because she knew he was special.
To make up for it though, every time he came to see her and her friend, she gave him a present. The old lady always rolled her eyes, but she paid no attention. The old lady didn't understand how special this boy was. And every time she gave him a present, he would always whisper, "Thanks, Mum."
She didn't know why he called her that, but she supposed it was his special name for her, in the same way that he always called her friend, "Dad." The old lady, however, always said, "We'll see you next week Frank, dear. Take care of yourself Alice, love."
And then they would leave, the special young boy, her light in the dark, looking just as lost as she felt.
A/N: Hope it wasn't too depressing? Thank you for reading and could I maybe have a little review?
