I have been reading all these great SM fics recently, and it really made fall in love again with S/D. So I thought I would give a shot at a S/D drabble not much of a one-shot. I wanted to explore the reason why I think Serena and Darien are meant to be with each other. I didn't like how he was "cold" to her in the Amine (English version) so I decided to drabble into the reasons why. Also this is taken after one of their break ups.
PS: I do not own Sailor Moon.
Love is a funny thing, is it not? After-all who else has a love that has lasted a thousand years to be reincarnated into the 21st century? It's not the reason why she loves him, though. It's one of the reason why but it isn't the main reason. He never pushed her into loving him because of their past lives together. He had broken her heart once again, because he didn't want her to be with him because of the past.
Her friends wonder why she is always so loyal to him, when he has broken her heart over and over again. They didn't see what she saw in him; a boy who was forced to grow up too soon. He never had the opportunity to experience the power of love, because his parents had died when he was too young to understand it.
She had taught him what love was, and loving him certainly wasn't always easy. She saw the good in him, and knew deep down he would always love her. She had know about his fears of losing her to the dark forces. She knew he couldn't live if she died. He lived in a constant fear of her leaving him just like his parents had without a reason why.
Everything she fought for was good enough to die for in her eyes, but she would continue to live because of him.
He protected her every chance he got, and he had died for her. He had sacrificed himself so many times to protect her from the enemies they faced as their alter egos. From the first time she ever became a superhero, he was there helping her fight off the Negaverse.
He didn't deserve her love, but she deserved his.
Serena Tsukino would keep setting everyone straight when they would say Darien Shields wasn't worth the trouble of loving. He was her first and only love, and he fulfilled a spot in her heart that was missing before.
Love is a funny thing, but no one no matter how hard they tried to break up Serena and Darien they would never succeed.
"Serena, don't you dare leave me alone," Darien pleaded for Serena to come back to him.
She had fought a youma all by herself, but she had used too much of her energy. He couldn't bear living without his Princess. She taught him how to love, and he had been a coward when he broke up with her time and time again. "I love you Serena." He meant it every single time he said those words to her. He could never love anyone else they way he loves her. She brought out a side of him, he didn't even know existed.
"I love you too Darien, but if you ever break up with me again..." Serena was cut off when Darien's lips crushed against hers.
Her crystal shined brightly with life again, as he brought her back to life. "I will kill you." she finished once he pulled his lips away from hers.
"I will never leave you again, you are my family now." He meant every word. He intended on marrying her, and spending the rest of their lives together.
"I will never leave you, Darien. You have kept me alive, and your love for me has made me so strong." Serena said as she clung onto his muscular body.
It was home to her, and no one else could have her heart. He had stolen it the very first time they met.
After-all a love like theirs lights up the sky.
