"Puny, furry scum! Prepare to be obliterated!" Jenny and Vastra sighed, what was it this time? A caterpillar? Still, they hurried over to Strax, hoping that he wasn't threatening an actual person.
"Strax, don't obliterate dinner, that ruins the fun, oh they do look delicious." Vastra leaned in close to the subjects of Strax's attention, only to be pushed aside by a frustrated Jenny. "They are not food, ma'am, they are kittens. Poor, innocent little kittens." She moved closer to the box of little fluff balls with big eyes and ears, crouching in front of them. She went to pick one up, or pet it, she wasn't sure yet, when Vastra's tongue whipped out and grabbed her hand. Jenny let out an exasperated sigh, giving her mistress a questioning (yet very sassy) look. "They might be dangerous, don't touch them. I'm not sure how old they are, so I can't determine if their venom sacs have developed yet." Vastra eyed the kittens suspiciously. "I don't trust them, dear." Jenny gave the Silurian a look "They are kittens, innocent, harmless, baby cats. Who don't have 'venom sacs', honestly ma'am." Vastra hesitated, then let go of Jenny's wrist. "Fine, but they aren't coming home with us, understand?" Strax looked at them both "Permission to shoot?"
The door to 13 Paternoster row swung open and Vastra walked in, followed by a disappointed Strax carrying his machine phaser gun and Jenny holding a box of small cute little kittens. Jenny smiled and gave the little animals some pets, talking to them a little and 'awwww'ing over them. Vastra closed the door behind them and looked at Jenny, completely unimpressed. "I can understand playing with your food before you eat it, but being nice to it is truly beyond me. What is the point? Doesn't fear taste better? I think so." Jenny glowered at Vastra "Honestly ma'am, they aren't food. They are our pets. We can raise them." Jenny smiled, absolutely glowing "I would be like having children, ma'am. We could be their mums!" Vastra's scaled brow flew up "You want to keep this food, alive, and raise it as our own hatchlings!?" Vastra was absolutely incredulous at the idea, it was very strange, in fact it was unheard of. Jenny stared at Vastra, very frustrated "NOT. FOOD. And yes, I will not allow you to eat them. No way. Never." Vastra sighed, defeated, Jenny always knew what Vastra's weakness was, and that would be Jenny's happiness.
"Fine. If it makes you happy dear." Jenny smiled and gave Vastra a quick kiss. "It does, thank you." Strax frowned, lowering his gun. "I'm going to go ensure our defenses are adequate for future enemy attacks." He stood up straight, saluted Jenny and Vastra, and walked up the stairs.
