Heels clicked down the street, the woman's hands carrying a rather large bouquet of roses, her face covered in the shadows of a hat. A light hum came from her as made her way towards a cemetery as she searched for a particular tombstone, one that held a name long lost to her. Or perhaps one never known.

"Come on daddy!" A small voice exclaimed, causing the woman to jerk behind the nearest tree, her humming halted. Blue eyes peered around looking for the child, finding the owner pulling at a rugged man's hand.

"Booker…" The woman whispered, her heart squeezing painfully as she watched the scene unfold before her.

"Slow down Anna." The man remarked, swooping down and picking the antsy girl up, holding her close to him. With the girl now snug in his grasp, he continued down the way the woman was heading only moments before.

"Why are we visiting mommy day?" Anna chirped, tugging at Booker's red necktie, untying it and re-tying it. He gave a sigh, stopping and shifted Anna that one of his hands could be free.

"Because." He grumbled out, lightly touching the headstone and gave a sad smile, today marked the seventh year of her death. Anna looked down at the grave and wiggled in his arm, motioning to be set down. He complied, watching as she lightly traced the name and dates, quietly.

"She died today." Was all she said, looking up at him, a small hand resting on the death date, eyes brimming with tears. Booker nodded, kneeling down to her height, placing a hand on her shoulder and drawing her into a hug.

The woman watched from the tree, a few tears of her own brimming over and she raised a shaky hand up, wiping them away. She leaned against the bark and fought back a sob, one that was happy and yet full of sadness. This could have been her life, her chance but it was given away and passed onto another. Blue eyes looked back at the small family and gave a smile, watching as the father and daughter walked away from the grave. She gave a sigh, waiting until they were out of sight before continuing her way to the stone.

"Hello mother."
