Just an idea I had about how Ron's comment to Percy about that he didn't care about Ginny (Chamber of Secrets) would have affected Percy

He'd heard it all before all the whispered gossip, the snide remarks and the blatant insults. But nothing had hit him quite as hard as this.
Percy Weasley wasn't the best person in social situations he wasn't the best at talking to people and he most certainly wasn't the most popular person around.
In fact Percy was rather awkward around people. When he talked to others he often started rambling about school, homework, rule and things like that because he knew he wasn't very good with others and he talked a lot when he got nervous that's just the way he was.
Percy Weasley had always trusted his siblings to be there for him. Sure Bill had set a lot to live up to, and Charlie wasn't around very often, of course the Fred and George made fun of him on a regular basis. But Ron had always been kind to him. Always even if he wasn't the cool brother, the exciting brother or the funny brother Ron had always believed in him and liked him.
Ginny. Percy sighed as he thought of what his youngest brother had said. Did he really think that way about him?
Then anger coursed through him. How dare Ron accuse him of not caring he had always been there for Ginny. He had been the one to tell her stories of Hogwarts, to play with her when the others played Quidditch and to calm her down if Molly was busy with something else.
He continued to walk through the halls until he couldn't bring himself to walk any further. He lent against the wall and pressed his forehead against the cold stone. Another sigh escaped his lips did Ron really think that poorly of him and if he did what about the others?
A shell. Percy had lived most of his life in a shell. Keeping in emotions and never letting any of the many insults or taunting break through. He had to remain strong.
For many people had taunted Percy in his life, his class mates, the other prefects even his brothers but all of the insults, the taunts and the snide remarks and just hit his shell the shell that seemed to surround all of him the shell that had never failed him never broke.
Until now. Now Percy's shell had been shattered into a million pieces all because his brother the only brother who had always stood by him had said he didn't care.
He knew he couldn't stay there forever. No matter how much he wanted to he had to leave.
So Percy Weasley walked away trying to repair tattered remains of his shell.
