A giggled escaped her lips as she hid behind one of the large chairs in the library, trying to remain still and quiet, as to not alert the seeker of this game. She curled tighter into herself and covered her mouth with her hands, listening for the familiar screech and chirps of Songbird. A shadow fell across the room causing her to tense up and wait, heart pounding each moment, silence filling the air. The shadow disappeared and Elizabeth crawled out to peek from behind the chair, blue eyes wondering. It was clear and she quickly stood, darting to the desk now, hiding underneath it, giggling. Her shoulder shook with her laughter and she bit down on her lip to quiet herself down, breath quicken at the sound of a screech. The floor shook as the mechanical bird landed, pushing the large window open with its head, claws on the frame as it dragged itself in. Its eye looked around, glowing a soft green, knowing the game that its Lamb was playing.

It let out another musical chirp, making its way towards the desk, cocking its head before lifting it up with its hand. Elizabeth let out a shriek of joy, startling the bird for a moment, its eyes shifting from green to a hazy orange. Its Lamb was screaming! Why was she screaming? It thought, jerking its held all around in search of the offender.

"No! Everything is fine! It's okay!" She said, placing small hands on the belly of the beast, trying to calm it, upset that her shriek had caused the bird to change tune so quickly. Songbird whistled, eyes growing soft green again, its demeanor shifting from protector to friend instantly. It lowered its head down and nuzzled its face up against her, making sweet hums. She laughed and hugged it, stroking the metal with light touches.

"There, there." She cooed, kissing the top of Songbird's head, a smile lighting up her face as she drew back, placing both hands on the sides of its face.

"Songbird, I love you."
