"Misty, are you sure you wanna watch a movie with your sister in it? Even if it some trashy action movie?"
"I want to support her, don't I?" Misty asked, pointing the remote at the TV, ready to order a movie about a bunch of government agents trying to stop a drug cartel, who was involved in the murder of the lead character's partner, girlfriend AND father. No, not all three at the same time, they were different people. It was the fourth movie in the franchise, and the tagline promised no stops.
Needless to say, it was pretty bad.
"Misty, I like action movies too," Ash said. "But do you really want to watch this?"
"I already said, I want to support Daisy as much as I can," said Misty. "Even if it means watching her less-than-stellar stuff and she's basically just there for boys to ogle over."
Ash knew that Misty could get pretty stubborn, and he recognized there was no way he was going to convince her otherwise.
Ash really wanted to stay awake during the movie, he really did. But between all the cheesy dialogue ( "Tell Harold I said 'hello'" BANG), lousy action sequences and obnoxious explosions, Ash found himself starting to nod off. He caught himself each time he was about to fall asleep.
Stay focused Ash, stay focused! He tried to. But was supposedly called an exhilarating thrill ride turned out to be a snoozefest of a Tunnel of Love. And the Tunnel of Love usually isn't that bad.
About three-quarters of the way, he started to nod off, and despite his efforts, and his attempts to get up and grab a pop from the fridge, his head fell to the side, and onto Misty's shoulder.
She was desperately trying to stay away as well, but she too was succumbing to sleep. And once Ash's head landed on her shoulder, she couldn't keep Mr. Sandman at bay, and so she rested her head on his.
They stayed in that position until the next morning, when both awoke with sleeping arms and Daisy and Tracey desperately trying to hold their laughter in.
