This is a really short chapter.

Midnight. A 6-year old figure walked onto the front lawn of a suburban house on a

mid-summer night. The figure spoke into a walky-talky, "Bring it out, Hobbes. It's time." A few minutes later, the garage door opened, and out came Hobbes, the tiger. He carried the gasoline from the lawn mower and a match box. Hobbes asked, "You sure we should do this, Calvin?"

Calvin responded, "We've been over this already. What better time?"

"How about never?"

"Oh, stop whining, sissy. What could possibly go wrong?"

"Every time you say that, my tail gets all bushy."

Calvin didn't respond. Instead, he poured the gasoline in big letters on the lawn. Then he casually struck a match and threw it on the letters. The message; land here, Galaxoid and Nebular, blazed brightly in the night. Then, a glowing disc appeared in the sky. The UFO landed on the lawn and the aliens, Galaxoid and Nebular, disembarked.

"What is it you want, Earth potentate?" asked Galaxoid.

Calvin said, "We want to see outer space."

"He means he wants to see it," corrected Hobbes.

Galaxoid commented "If you want to see outer space, you will need training to survive. And training isn't free."

"You can have Mom and Dad as slaves," offered Calvin.

"It's a deal!" said Nebular, "All aboard!"

And, while Galaxoid went to capture Calvin's parents, Nebular lead Calvin and Hobbes onto the UFO… and into their future.
