This is my first "real" story and I'm nervous. Please leave me reviews and suggestions!
You know that feeling you get that someone is watching you over your shoulder. Then, when you turn around,
there's nobody there?
This is my story...
My name is Emma Swan, a lost girl, that had no one, at least that's what I thought. I was eighteen years old.
I had run away from the foster system at 16 and found myself alone. The streets were my home and all I knew
was that I had to fight to survive. That is until I wandered into a tiny town called Storybrooke. You know the
rinky-dink little town where everyone knows everyone and they're all too damn nosy to at least pretend that you aren't the center of attention.
I walked over the line and I just felt this heavy weight drop into my stomach.
Something was definitely wrong with this place. There was a huge clock tower in the center of town and as I stared at it, it never moved.
I mean, I stood there for a good five minutes and it NEVER moved. Okay, I thought, maybe its just broken, then I heard something move
behind me. I slowly turned, thinking that maybe this place wasn't as empty as it seemed, but there was nothing there. I tried all the doors
on Main Street and everyone of them was locked. Okay, this was getting weird. Then I heard a sound, it was like a baby laughing, then
adults laughing too. I followed the sound down the street to a little park where a party was going on.
I walked into it hoping to find someone to talk to and maybe find out what was going on. I quickly realized that this was the WRONG thing to do. As soon as I had stepped
on the grass, they all turned to look at me. I felt really awkward and tried to back up and turn around, but my feet were stuck. This woman in front of me with short dark brown hair was watching at me with cold, icy eyes. The couple behind her looked like they were
staring at someone they knew, but I hadn't ever met any of them...had I? I tried to think back on the years I had in the system...No, none of the faces here were familiar, except the woman in the couple. I couldn't place her. Then she spoke.
