Klaus watched from the doorway as he watched, Hope, his little girl, sleep. He had no concept of how long he watched her. It seemed it was never long enough. There wasn't a day in his Hell that he didn't think about her. He believed it was the thought of her that kept him alive all this time. He thought that is how he kept the pain he was in at bay all this time.

He knew Hope was well taken care of for the last five years. Little wolf, his nickname for Hailey, wouldn't have it any other way. He had to admire Hailey's strength, love, and, yes, hope for their family. If not for her strength and love, their family would have surely perished.

"She gave me hope when I was barely holding on," Hailey said from behind him, "but I promised her I was going to reunite our family."

"You kept her hidden well from Marcellus, Little wolf," Klaus said, "while you kept your promise to her." Klaus looked over at her. "How can I not be grateful?"

"He's going to come for us, isn't he?" Hailey asked.

"When he does," Klaus said. "We'll be gone." He was going to close the door and then he noticed the artwork on the floor. The dragon eating its tail. He quietly walked into the room to pick up a few. He walked over back to Hailey. "What's this?"

"This is the first time I've seen this," Hailey told him.

"But it looks like she's been drawing this for awhile," Klaus said. "Repeatedly."

"Let her sleep," Hailey insisted. "I'll ask her in the morning."

"We'll ask her in the morning," Klaus said.

"Klaus, she's going to have me taking care of her to six," Hailey pointed out. "She's going to be overwhelmed."

"Klaus, she's right," Elijah said from down the hall and walking toward to his niece's bedroom. "As much as we all love her, Freya, Rebekah, and Kol included, she's going to be shy with us. She was still a toddler when we were separated, so she won't remember us. Just Hailey."

Klaus sighed with frustration. "I just wanted a day of peace before having to leave or worry about the next problem," he said.

"Don't we all," Hailey said and took his hand squeezed it for a moment. "We all want what's best for her. Hope having her family. Her whole family is a start, Klaus."

"First thing tomorrow, we'll worry what the next problem is after we figure out what this drawing mean," Hailey said. She looked over from Klaus to Elijah. "Or if it's something to worry about."

"This is what's best for Hope right this moment," Elijah agreed.

Klaus looked at his daughter. His beautiful Hope. "Agreed. We all what is best for Hope."
