Author's Note: My first DP fic. Unlike my other fics, I tried to make this with as little AU as possible. This takes place between Kindred Spirits and D-Stabilized.

"Don't worry. You'll see me again."
Dani remembered saying those words to her cousin only a few months ago. Since then, Dani's DNA had become even more unstable.
Worst of all, she no longer had a home. How was she going to explain herself to Jack and Maddie Fenton? She couldn't go back to Vlad's place anymore. He would just reject her.
"You exist to serve me!"
As Dani finally found a place to rest, Vlad's harsh words came back to her. Had her cousin been right from the beginning? Was Vlad using her from the start?
"Am I an imperfection? A mistake?"
Vlad had said that she wasn't a mistake. But he didn't say that she was, either.
"You're not mindless like those other clones."
Why is it she lasted longer then the other clones? Why was she, Dani, cursed with only half of a life while the other clones turned to goop so fast? Sometimes Dani wished that she could turn to goop, too. Then she wouldn't have to deal with her unstable DNA.
"And it's Dani. With an I."
Dani just wanted to live like everybody else. If she had completely stable DNA, she would have a full life.
But until her DNA was stabilized, Dani would continue living her life. After all, a half life was better then no life.
