The Reunion that Went Wrong After 10 Years
Yes, it was the day that Gregor had been waiting for years to come.
Exactly 10 years of waiting, that is.
When Gregor proposed to Luxa, the queen of Regalia, she refused because she thought that they were too young.
Not this time, Gregor said to himself.
When they said good bye to each other, they promised each other that they will meet in 10 years, when they believed that they can maked the decision.
When Luxa said those words to him, he was heartbroken.
However, today was the day to decide for themselves.
It was already eleven thirty. Gregor had to get going, if he wanted to get to the Central Park around midnight.
Gregor missed Luxa dearly. The Queen of Regalia wasn't just attractive, but witty, clever... He couldn't find the words that are right for her.
Besides, she doesn't belong in this world to be described in the language of this world.
Gregor did change. He had grown a lot taller and simply different from what he was 10 years ago.
So did the Central Park.
He could almost imagine himself trying to rescue his dad many years ago.
The place was filled with memories of his 5 underland adventures.
There was some lovers hugging and sitting on a bench.
There was a big speaker with musics flowing out of it.
Gregor was nearing the dark shadow and the blond girl sitting.
Somehow, Gregor knew that this was Luxa, but he didn't want to go near her.
It was Luxa.
But she was not alone.
When Gregor approached the dark shadow, he saw Aurora and Howard.
Gregor's heart stopped.
Why is Howard there?
Then, it hit him with mighty force that Luxa married Howard.
Gregor approached Luxa.
Howard left without a word.
"I am sorry, Gregor," Luxa said.
An awkward silence was between them.
The speaker started a chorus from "Gotta Go On My Way".
I've got to move on
I just don't belong here
I hope you understand
Luxa tried again. "I am sorry, Gregor. I didn't think that we can be married. You know that Howard is a nice person"
Of course he knew, but he was still sad.
We might find our place in this world someday
But at least for now
I gotta go on my way
"I am sorry, Gregor." And she left with her bat Aurora, leaving Gregor behind with all the burdens to carry in his life.
