One August evening, a woman and man were standing on a bridge, talking together. One of them was known as Ash, an aspiring photographer who took pictures on beautiful landscapes such as this bridge itself. The other person was known as May, an only daughter of the famous Norman Maple as he was well known around the area for handing a fortune to poor people on the streets. Rumors became conversations, and conversations went everywhere in Petalburg City.

Suddenly, Ash went down on one knee and took a small box out of his pocket. He opened it so that May could see, and it was a silver ring with gold on the tip of it.

"May, will you marry me?" Ash asked, feeling very nervous about this. May was completely taken back. It had only 6 months since they had started to date, and now Ash wanted to marry her. After a while of thinking, she replied.

"I'm just not ready yet." She said anxiously. "I need time to think." She said as she looked down at her feet. She was in fact, lying. Her father would never allow it.

"How about this?" Ash moved her chin up to his face. "In exactly 1 year on this very day at this exact time, you give me your answer?" May looked at her watch and it was quarter past 5. She nodded in agreement, and headed home, Ash heading in the opposite direction. 'I love you May.' Ash said in his head.

30 years later...

There was knocking on May's house door. She now lived in her parents home, married to someone named Drew. "I'll get it!" May shouted, as she got off of the sofa and turned the television off. She headed to the front door and opened it. Strangely, nobody was there, apart from a thick navy blue book on the floor. Looking around to check it someone was around even though there wasn't, she picked up the book and took it inside.

Later that day...

May finally finished watching The BIg Bang Theory on the TV and turned it off. There was nothing to do at home, since her husband was usually at work. Then,
she remembered the book that she was given earlier on. She walked towards the shelf where it was and began to flip through it. There, she saw pictures that she had not have seen for a long time.

There was a picture of the same bridge that her and Ash met, 30 years ago. Underneath it, it said in scruffy handwriting: '1st year'.

She looked through the book, seeing the '2nd year' and the 3rd year', until it stopped at the '30th year'. The handwriting was very bad, and looked as if an old man had wrote it.

Dreading what was on the next and final page, she turned it and it was a grave, with the headstone and it said:

Here lies Ash Ketchum,
1982-2012

And under it, was another piece of writing, and May recognised it as Ash when he was really old.

'Why didn't you come?'
