Nothing beats the feeling of that meditative state of mind. When you're so at peace with the world around you, that you feel as if nothing is wrong. You close your eyes and just breath in the calm serenity, continuing to fall through the wilderness of your mind; becoming a nomad in your thoughts. Eventually though, the world catches up with you and you have to come back to the surface.
Kiana felt warm, for the first time in years. She felt like the events of the last two years had not happened and it was all a dream. It was like stepping into the sun after being held back by the weight of her shadows. Her thoughts were foggy and she couldn't quite remember what had lead her to be lost in her own mind, but she knew it would not be long before the shadow consumed her once more, bringing her back to her unwanted reality.
But it didn't.
She felt herself rising towards the warmth, suddenly becoming more aware that she wasn't where she needed to be. This was all wrong. This could not be happening.
Death was not an option, could never be an option. It was too important that she live. But here she was, dying in the arms of the man she loved.
