Empty loop
'We live together, we die together' the brothers vowed.
They never expected one of them would stray away beyond retrieval, push himself to the extreme, go too rogue for his own good.
He keeps telling himself that Loki is the enemy.
He hopes that he will one day believe it.
Because when your enemy dies, you are supposed to be merry,
Yet he can't by any means remotely fathom or stand the idea of Loki dead.
When he looks at him on battlefield, he can see the young innocent green eyed boy he called his brother,
He doesn't know if it is Loki manipulating him, or his imagination playing him.
He just knows he has to strike.
And he always strikes.
He always misses.
It is an empty loop, where both keep circling each other, snickering and sniggering at each other like raging rabid beasts, with none of them giving the final blow.
They tell themselves they are destined to do this till Ragnarok comes and ends it all.
A notion they tell themselves, a lie to distract themselves from the simple tragic impending truth, that sooner or later one would have to take the other down, they are treading forwards towards this end with a steady pace.
This time it has gone too far,
The madness, the chaos, Loki has let his agents roam too far.
He knows it, well.
The sane part of him does.
He doesn't struggle
There is something merciful to Thor's final blow.
It is in the right place, it is fatal, and there is barely any pain.
He doesn't feel any pain.
He wishes he could say the same for His brother, whose face is tear streaked, as he watches the blood pooling out of him.
His hand reaches as to wipe away his brother's tears, a faint smile shadowing his mouth.
He wishes he could muster the strength to fervently thank him for saving him from himself, from further descending, further disintegrating into madness.
He wants to thank him for breaking the ever repeating pseudoloop.
He never thought he'd do it.
There was something wrong, this time.
There was silence, no words exchanged, no blames or taunting.
It was totally bleak.
His brother wasn't even struggling.
His Fa…no, their father told them once about merciful killing, taking one's life for their own good, taking one's life to save them, taking one's life quickly, without pain, taking one's life because you love them.
He dismissed it all as meaningless babble.
How meaningless it is now.
Thor is a lonely broken man.
His life has become empty, so damn empty ,His existence beyond tolerable.
It didn't stay so for long.
It was over soon.
They died on battle field together, that day.
He died alone of a broken heart a few days later.
