ALRIGHT JUST TO BE CLEAR. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DIFFERENT TAKE ON WHAT HAPPENED IN 2X20. NEAL GOT SHOT BUT HE IS OKAY, REGINA IS BACK AT THE APARTMENT AND THE REASON SNOW AND DAVID SHOW UP IS BECAUSE THEY WENT LOOKING FOR EMMA.
"Just hold on!" Emma yelled, her grip tightening on Neal's hand. Her other hand was holding on tight to a floorboard. He was right, she couldn't hold them both but she wasn't about to lose him. Not again. She tried to pull him up, and she really did but, she couldn't get the right leverage.
"Tell Henry. Don't let him grow up like we did." Neal said
"Please, just hold on. I need you." She looked him in the eyes "I love you."
Neal just held her gaze for a bit "I love you too."
She couldn't help but smile at him but, then it faltered as she felt his hand slip from her and the scream of 'No' that came ripping out of her mouth scared her. What scared her even more was that she was going to have to watch the man she loves, disappear into a portal to another world. As the light faded she looked in the hole. "Neal?" She said in shock.
Neal looked around confused and shocked as well as he sat up a bit and looked at Emma "Emma?"
"Wh-what happened?" She asked as she carefully entered the hole that Neal was standing up in. "I don't understand."
"I guess I fell at the end of the portal. It didn't take me." he looked at Emma and smiled as he grabbed her into a hug and held her tight. "I thought I was never going to see you again."
She smiled and hugged him back "Me too. Do you really love me?"
"I do. As much as I tired to love Tamara, I just couldn't. You have always been on my mind. You're it for me."
Emma smiled and laughed a bit as she pulled back and looked him in the eyes. His smile was reaching up to the corners of his eyes as they shone with pure love and happiness. She took a step back before punching him in the shoulder. He cried out in pain. "What is wrong with you!" she yelled at him as she kept hitting him in the same spot.
"Ow! Emma, stop it! What's wrong with you?"
"You let go! That's what's wrong with me!"
"I'm sorry!"
"You don't get to say you're sorry! You let go after telling me you love me! Why would you let go?" She was now slapping him in the arm and punching him until her parents came running in.
"Emma! Stop it!" Snow yelled out as David jumped in the hole and pulled her away.
"I let go so you could live and raise Henry. I was trying to save you!"
With her parent's now standing between the two of them. She tried to calm down but lunged for Neal again causing David to hold her back and Neal to kind of hide behind Snow as he climbed out of the hole.
"Emma, calm down." David said.
"He almost got himself killed after telling me he loves me!"
David looked over at Neal a bit angry. Mainly because he knew that it was hard for Emma to tell people her true feelings. "You did, what?"
"Neal?" Snow said
"Yeah?"
"Run."
"Yup."
Despite his gun shot wound, he took off running with David hot on his tail and Emma behind David and Snow behind Emma. Emma yelling at David not to hurt him that he's been shot and Snow yelling at Neal to run to the hospital.
