Dear Mum,
I'm enjoying Hogwarts. I'm in Ravenclaw, just like you were. It's a shame you couldn't be here to see me.
I didn't have many friends for my first few years at Hogwarts but now I have many! 5! There's Ginny, she's always been nice to me, and there's Ron, he's very funny but he's quite rude sometimes. There's Hermione, she's very clever. I don't know why she isn't in Ravenclaw with me. There's Neville, he's the nicest friend I have. And I'm also friends with Harry Potter - remember that boy?
You wouldn't believe the amount of nargles there are here. And not to mention the Wrackspurts! But it's all under control now. There were some free Spectrespecs with the Quibbler a few months ago, so everybody is aware of the problems they bring.
Dad's doing well. The Quibbler is very successful. I think it's because of the article about the Crumple Horned Snorkack.
I notice you still haven't answered the letter I sent you last year, or the year before. I don't think you've been getting them, so I'very been writing one every year. I hope this letter finds you well. Are you in heaven? Or some sort of other afterlife? I can't wait to hear from you.

Luna finished writing her letter and made her way to the owlery.
She found a brown tawny owl and attached the letter to its leg.
"Take this to my Mum, please. I don't know where she is, but I hope you find her."
