A/N Hi, this is just a little one-shot that I came up with. Tell me if you like it.

Disclaimer: I don't own PJO.

"Curiosity killed the cat,

But satisfaction brought it back."

Many people wonder when I, Annabeth Chase, decided that I liked Percy Jackson. Some say that I liked him right away. This is mostly the belief of the Aphrodite cabin. They called it love at first sight. That's not what happened though. Yes, I did think he was kind of cute with his green baby seal eyes and his ruffled black hair that retained its 'I-just-got-out-of-bed' look no matter how much you brushed it, but that didn't mean that I loved him. I'll admit that he was cute (even with the drooling), but 'like' is not the same as love.

Other people insist that it happened later. They say maybe sometime during trip on the Sea of Monsters or during the Labyrinth when I kissed him. There are even some that say that was a friendly kiss and that I didn't actually love him until our underwater kiss. They are wrong too though. Yes, I'll admit that by the time I had kissed him, I loved Percy Jackson. It was no longer a 'gosh, you sure look cute' or even a 'ya, I might just like you'. No, by that time, it was love. And as time grew on, our love grew into one of the strongest bonds that you can have.

So you wonder, "When did you, Annabeth Chase, begin to like Percy Jackson?" My answer? Oh, it's a story that you have never even heard. So listen closely because you will probably never hear it again. It took place during our first quest to retrieve Zeus' master bolt. It was the day after our trip on the - and the Thrill Ride of Love

"Annabeth?" Percy nudged my shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"Huh?" I looked up from the window that I was staring out, startled from my thoughts.

Percy looked at me in concern, "You spaced out. Are you okay? If it's anything about what I asked on the - or the Thrill Ride of Love then I'm sorry."

I glared at him, angry at for him mentioning it, "What's it to you?"

Percy shrugged nonchalantly, "I was just curious. That's all."

I snarled, "Curiosity killed the cat, you know."

"Ah, but you forget: Satisfaction brought it back." Percy smirked.

"Whatever." I slumped in my seat, arms crossed.

"Hey, please talk to me?" Percy nudged my shoulder again, and his green eyes stared at me pleadingly, "I'm sorry okay? I don't mean to bug you about your personal life and get into your privacy, but I care for you okay? I know I just met you, but I feel like I need to protect you or something."

I raised an eyebrow at that, "You know that I've been training longer than you, right? If anything, I'll be saving you."

Percy frowned, "I don't mean like that. I mean emotionally. I've been in the mortal world longer than you. I know how to deal with personal problems."

I rolled my eyes, "Sure you do."

"It's true, you know." Percy looked at me seriously. "Well, I get that you don't want to talk about it, but if you ever do, I'll be here for you okay?"

I nodded, "Okay."

Percy laughed, "Man, am I glad that I'm not a cat or else I would be so dead right now."

And the way that Percy's eyes lit up right then, I couldn't help but laugh along with him.

Maybe, Percy and I wouldn't always get along, and may be we weren't madly in love with each other at that point, but we were friends, and that's what was important. Yes, that was the day that I, Annabeth Chase, decided that I liked Percy Jackson.
