etc.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything. Even my opinions are co-owned -__-;;

Enjoy and review. I really hope I did a good job without making it WAY too OOC...

For the first time in his life, he stared out into the evening sky with a strange longing unfamiliar to him. The breeze caressed his flowing

auburn hair, and it reminded him of her. Oh, how he would have loved every moment of it if it were. The night was at its most beautiful- more

beautiful and serene than it had been for many years.

It would be even better if she were by my side, he thought. He thought of her smile, a smile that could end the rampage of any savage

beast, and turn them into the most gentle, loving creature. Her bright cerulean eyes glimmered like the sea, full of life, and a deep blue when in

deep thought. Those eyes could ease the pain and suffering you felt, and make you feel like you matter. Her face, it was always aglow with

sweet laughter or whenever she blushed. No matter what, when he looked at her sweet face when she was joyful- rarely was she not- he

couldn't help but smile. But he wouldn't let her see that. Her hair he longed to stroke; so golden and bright, as to rival the stars. She had

flawless pale skin: an indicator of her childlike innocence and purity. But she was no child anymore. He knew this, but she was still quite naïve for

her age, 19.

She was everything he wasn't. She made him feel whole. She was the light to his darkness, the happiness to his despair, the love to his

hatred. He loved her, he figured as much, and he knew he needed her. She was more then a pretty face or a stepping stone for his rise to

power. He rationalized in the past that he wouldn't fall in love with her, love was weak. He couldn't have weaknesses in order to be a successful

ruler. The weakness his father had which was the reason for his downfall. She was nothing to him. He kept telling himself that until he almost

believed it.

But when one night, after holding her for ransom as done many times before, he felt a pang of curiosity and watched her sleep. Her chest

gently rose and fell, and he felt happy just to see her looking so peaceful and unafraid. He saw how delicate and beautiful she was as she slept.

He walked up to her and stroked her hair, and then she started mumbling sweet nothings which made him chuckle softly. He stroked her face

lightly, cautious of waking her up, when he suddenly felt her warm hands grab his large, scaled hand. He was afraid that she had woken up until

he noticed her hugging his arm as a child would. He felt the urge to hold her and rock her in his arms. He abstained from doing so, but he knew

that very moment that he wanted to be with her the rest of his life. It was then he realized that she meant a lot more to him than he previously

thought. He could have anyone he desired, and he wanted only her. He wanted to protect her, comfort her, love her; he wanted everything from

her. But, none of these could happen, unless she decided for herself. He knew force would never work. She would be his physically, but not

emotionally, or spiritually. He wanted all of that. He wanted her to truly and genuinely love him. If it took eternity, so be it. But, he had already

given her his heart, and she would always have it.
